We are very happy to recommend MCH Heating and Gas Engineers. We had a problem with the heating and it was dealt with speedily and with much efficiency. Everything was explained to us and we cannot thank Mick enough for helping us.
Gas Safe boilers supplied and fitted, from £1,300 across Teesside
A new boiler installation by MCH costs between £1,300 and £5,000 supplied and fitted, carried out by Gas Safe registered engineers across Darlington, Stockton, Middlesbrough and Richmond. We survey your system, remove the old boiler, install and commission the new one, and register the manufacturer warranty. Most straightforward swaps are completed in one to two days.
A new boiler is a long term investment in your home, and we treat it that way. Mick surveys your system in person, talks through what your household actually needs, and gives you a clear, itemised quote before any spanner comes out. No pressure, no upsell, no vague 'from' prices.
We install combi, system and regular boilers from every major manufacturer, matching the model to your home rather than to whatever's sitting on the van. When a longer warranty matters, we'll show you the options and explain the trade offs so you can decide with real numbers in front of you.
Prices for a straightforward swap start around £1,300 and rise to about £5,000 for full system upgrades, radiator work or awkward first time fits. That price includes the boiler, the labour, the flue kit, the controls, the removal of your old unit and the paperwork. Nothing gets added later.
On the day, Mick handles everything: isolating the old system, fitting and commissioning the new boiler, testing every safety device, registering your warranty and walking you through the controls. You get a Benchmark Certificate, a manufacturer warranty registered in your name, and a working, quiet, efficient heating system.
MCH covers Darlington, Stockton-on-Tees, Middlesbrough, Richmond, Northallerton, Yarm, Bishop Auckland and the villages in between. If you are not sure whether your postcode is in range, call Mick on 07854 025 371 and he will let you know straight away.
Yes. Every job Mick carries out is done under Gas Safe registration and he is happy to show his ID card on site. You can also confirm the registration on the Gas Safe Register website, which is the legal register for anyone working on gas appliances in the UK.
MCH Heating & Gas Engineers was founded in 2022 by Mick Chatt, who grew up in Darlington. Mick has hands on gas and heating experience behind that and personally handles every job, so you always deal with the same engineer from quote to handover.
Yes. Genuine emergencies such as no heat, no hot water or a gas safety concern get a 24 hour response. Call 07854 025 371 at any time and Mick will let you know how quickly he can be with you. Non urgent bookings are made during normal Mon to Fri 08:00 to 18:00 hours.
Bank transfer and card payments are both fine. Payment is due on completion of the work, and the price you pay is the price quoted in writing. For larger installation jobs, Mick is happy to discuss splitting the payment between deposit and completion.
Yes. All installation quotes are free and there is no obligation to book. Mick will come out, look at the property, ask what you actually need, and follow up with a clear itemised price. If the job is not for you, that is the end of it.
A new boiler installed by MCH runs from about £1,300 for a straightforward like for like swap up to around £5,000 for full system upgrades, radiator work or awkward first time fits. The price includes the boiler, the labour, the flue kit, the controls and the removal of the old unit. You get an itemised quote before anything is booked.
Warranty length on boiler depend on budget & model of boiler with warranty's starting at 2 years up to 12
A straightforward combi swap usually takes one day. A first time fit, a system change or extra radiator work can push it to two days. Mick will give you a realistic timeline in the quote so you can plan the day around it, and you will be told immediately if anything is likely to overrun.
MCH installs every major boiler brand, including Worcester Bosch, Vaillant, Baxi, Ideal, Glowworm and Alpha. The right choice depends on your budget, your priorities and the warranty length you want. Mick will show you two or three sensible options at the quote stage rather than picking one for you.
Yes. Removing and disposing of your old boiler is included in the installation price. Everything goes to a licensed recycler, the pipework is capped where needed, and the room is left tidy. You never need to arrange skip hire or disposal yourself.
Yes. Once the boiler is commissioned Mick registers the manufacturer warranty in your name and gives you the paperwork on the day. You get a Benchmark Certificate, the warranty registration and the service record, all filled in properly so the cover stays valid year on year.
It's a requirement to have your boiler serviced every 12 months for safety and reliability
A standard annual boiler service with MCH is £65. Landlord CP12 certificates, larger properties and older systems can scale up to around £420 depending on how many appliances need certifying. The price is confirmed when you book so there are no surprises on the invoice.
A full annual service covers a case off inspection, a clean of the burner and heat exchanger, a flue emissions test, gas pressure and control checks, and a written service report. Anything that needs attention is explained to you and priced before any repair work is carried out.
Yes. MCH issues CP12 Landlord Gas Safety Certificates the same visit wherever possible. Every gas appliance in the property is checked, tested and recorded, and you get the digital and paper copy of the certificate to hand to tenants or letting agents.
Yes. If the service picks up a fault, or if you already know the boiler is not behaving, Mick will diagnose it on the visit, explain what is wrong, and give you a price for the fix. Common parts are carried in the van, and manufacturer specific parts are ordered same day where possible.
Absolutely, and it is often the cheapest way. If you book the annual service on the same visit as a known repair, MCH only charges one callout, so you get both jobs done in one visit at a lower total price. Ask about combining when you book.
